Trucker's protest

Today in Wellington there was an organised protest by a whole lot of truck drivers. They made a big convoy and made life difficult for all the motorists wanting to drive into the city. Basically what they were asking for is that the government make fuel prices lower so they could do their jobs more cheaply. While I sympathise with them for wanting their business to be more efficient I think they're wasting their time.
Oil is a finite resource. It's like a half full cookie jar in a world with no ovens. Eat one cookie there and that's one less cookie in that world, burn a gallon of gas here and that's one less gallon of gas in this world.
