New Zealand Yearly Meeting
It's been a wee while since I posted to this blog. I spent last weekend in Auckland attending the Quaker Yearly Meeting for New Zealand. I took some pictures but they're at home so I'll post them later.
It was a very interesting experience. I didn't actually say anything during the discussions but I was fascinated by the decision making process used, and by thinking about what seemed to be easily decided and what ends up being argued about three years in a row (something that could have been sorted out immediately if certain people were willing to follow established procedure.)
As well as the interest in the event itself, it was also lovely to meet some people I haven't seen for several years. On Sunday morning before meeting for worship I walked to the Mount Eden crater with one of my parents' friends from university.
In other news: my current job finishes on the 8th of August so I'd welcome any suitable offers of subsequent employment. If you happen to be an employer please check out my cv.
